'Match Ado nearly about Nothing'

I am not a faootball fan in anyway shape for form, and the first few minutes of this production try too hard to make the play relevant to the theme with a number of word changes

Once this is over the production settles into a more normal Much Ado with very  changes. Any production rises or falls by its Beatrice and Benedick, sadly though I admire both Freema Agyeman and Nick Blood, the former did not hit the heights as much as the latter.

Some thoughts on my favourite topics of the spear carriers:

Antonio becomes Antonia, Leonato's wife

The Messenger in Act 1 Scene 1 disappears and is replaced by some of the other characters from the play

The Sexton not Friar Francis suggests the idea Hero is declared dead

More thoughts to follow once I've digested this more
